The DTE board for XBee can be connected to any serial device (DCE) with a DB9 female connector such as servo and motor controllers, GPRS modems, GPS, etc. By connecting, for example, our XBee USB 990.002 board to the computer and the DTE 990.006 board to the serial device, you can eliminate the cable and obtain a wireless zigbee connection that supports considerable distances and has exceptional reliability.
The board is compatible with XBee and XBeePro Series1 and Series2 modules.
There are three LEDs on the board: TX, Assoc and RSSI. The TX indicates when the board is sending data to the device, the Assoc LED indicates when the XBee module is associated and the RSSI LED indicates the radio signal strength.
