The XBee - Simple Board is designed to allow a simple and reliable connection between XBee modules and your application. The XBee and XBeePRO modules are fully supported, even the new XBee Series 2 are supported. The solid construction and the powerful voltage regulator ensure maximum reliability and maximum performance of the XBee modules. Two useful LEDs allow constant monitoring of the board's activity, simplifying and speeding up the search for problems.
It is possible to connect the board in various ways. You can use two 12-pin male strips to obtain a 24-pin DIL configuration with the standard 2.54mm pitch. It is possible to directly solder the wires to the pins that are needed. A convenient rear connector makes it easy to use the most common functions of the XBee module, it is possible to use a 90° connector to connect various plugs and connectors, it is also possible to solder standard 2.54mm pitch connectors for maximum configuration flexibility.
The board can be powered by a 3.3V source applied to any pin marked 3.3V, or it can be powered by unregulated sources up to 18V via the VIN pin. When the internal regulator is used it is possible to power external devices at 3.3V, the power depends on the type of XBee installed.
